Vietnam SuperPort™ establishes Joint Logistics Lab with University of Transport Technology in Vinh Phuc to Enhance Human Resources for Vietnam’s Logistics Sector

Vinh Phuc Province, December 17, 2024 – Vietnam SuperPort, the University of Transport Technology (UTT), and Singapore Supply Chain and Logistics Academy (SCALA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a cutting-edge logistics laboratory and implement initiatives to enhance Vietnam’s logistics workforce. This collaboration aims to solidify Vietnam’s position as a key logistics hub in Southeast Asia while promoting innovation and sustainability in the industry.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Nguyen Khac Hieu, Deputy Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People’s Committee; His Excellency Jaya Ratman, Singapore’s Ambassador to Vietnam; along with representatives from Vietnam SuperPort, UTT, and SCALA. During the event, the parties agreed to collaborate on initiatives aimed at improving human resource quality and driving a modern, smart, and sustainable logistics industry.

Vietnam SuperPort™, the University of Transport Technology (UTT), and the Singapore Academy of Logistics and Supply Chain (SCALA) have partnered to establish an Advanced Logistics Lab.

The centerpiece of this partnership is the establishment of Vietnam’s first joint logistics laboratory at UTT’s Vinh Phuc campus between Singapore logistics conglomerate and a Vietnam transport university. This facility will serve as a digital and innovation hub, focusing on the application of artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, and sustainable development. The joint laboratory will provide training for industry professionals and organize specialized conferences and workshops. Additionally, it will facilitate collaboration between students, academics and industry practitioners to conduct scientific studies and provide insights for policy and strategic development in Vietnam’s logistics sector.

The parties have agreed to collaborate on initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of the industry’s workforce and promoting a modern, smart, and sustainable logistics sector.

The collaboration emphasizes practical, hands-on learning approaches to enhance educational programs. Vietnam SuperPort and SCALA experts will participate in UTT’s teaching programs and seminars, sharing their industry knowledge and insights. UTT students will have the opportunity to visit Vietnam SuperPort and Supply Chain City™ in Singapore, gaining exposure to advanced logistics infrastructure. 

Furthermore, Vietnam SuperPort will offer selected internship positions to UTT students, including a 9-month talent development program at YCH Group’s headquarters in Singapore, providing valuable real-world experience.

Faculty development is also a key component of this partnership. Vietnam SuperPort and SCALA will design a specialized training program for UTT lecturers, focusing on supply chain excellence, technology integration, and sustainability practices.
