Vinh Phuc, Vietnam – 14 September 2024 – Under the witness of provincial leaders, members of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC), regional association and business leaders, Vietnam SuperPort™, the joint venture between YCH Group (Singapore) and T&T Group (Vietnam) held the “Envisioning the Future of Vietnam SuperPort™” event. The event highlighted the launch of Vietnam SuperPort™ as a critical hub connecting supply chains between China and Southeast Asia, with the ambitious goal of achieving Net Zero by 2040. This event marks a significant milestone in the development of Vietnam SuperPort™, enhancing Vietnam’s logistics capabilities while contributing to the nation’s climate change goals.
The event was attended by prominent leaders, including Dr. Tran Duy Dong, Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People’s Committee, His Excellency Mr. Jaya Ratnam, Singapore’s Ambassador to Vietnam, and Mr. Oudet Souvannavong, Chairman of the ASEAN BAC, Dr. Robert Yap, Executive Chairman of YCH Group; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nghi, Member of the BOD, Deputy General Director, T&T Group, as well as regional associations and business leaders.
Enhancing Supply Chain Connectivity Across China and Southeast Asia
Attendees were given an immersive experience using the Apple Vision Pro, a cutting-edge spatial computer. The Virtual Reality experience highlighted the ‘Park within a Park™’ concept, which integrates supply chain services across road, rail, air, and sea into a single logistics hub. This innovative approach enhances efficiency and provides seamless connectivity, solidifying Vietnam SuperPort™’s position as a key player in the regional logistics landscape.
During the event, Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of Vietnam SuperPort™, shared the new vision and development plans for Southeast Asia’s first SuperPort™. He stated, “By leveraging cutting-edge technology and innovative logistics solutions, we are enhancing the flow of goods across the region and setting a new standard for sustainable, future-ready logistics ports. Vietnam SuperPort™ is well-positioned to drive Vietnam’s economic growth and strengthen regional ties through world-class infrastructure.”

Asia’s First Net Zero Multimodal Logistics Port by 2040
“In alignment with Vietnam’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050, Vietnam SuperPort™ has embedded advanced sustainability solutions into its core operations. We are committed to achieving Net Zero by 2040, strengthening Vietnam’s leadership in sustainable development.”, said Dr. Yap.
Vietnam SuperPort™ outlined its plan to achieve net-zero emissions. This involves assessing current emissions, upgrading infrastructure with technologies like AI and IoT, adopting renewable energy systems, and transitioning to an electric fleet by 2030. Residual emissions will be offset through the purchase of renewable energy credits and carbon offsets.
Nurturing the Next Generation of Supply Chain Talent
Vietnam SuperPort™ is also committed to developing a highly skilled workforce. In collaboration with YCH Group and the Singapore Supply Chain and Logistics Academy (SCALA), it will train 500 next-generation logistics professionals through a 9-month talent development program in Singapore. This initiative aims to prepare Vietnam’s workforce to meet the growing demand for high-quality, tech-savvy talent in logistics, as the country becomes a key electronics manufacturing and R&D hub.
